Max Weiß (born 15 June 2004) is a German professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Burnley.

Club career

Born in Speyer, Weiß played for TSG Hoffenheim and SV Sandhausen's academies, and joined Karlsruher SC's academy after being released from Sandhausen's in 2019.[2][3] In January 2022, he signed his first professional contract with Karlsruhe, until summer 2026.[3] He made his debut on 15 May 2022, starting in a 2–0 defeat away to 1. FC Heidenheim in the final match of the 2021–22 season.[4]

In summer 2024, Weiß signed a new contract with Karlsruhe, valid until summer 2029.[5] Following the sale of goalkeeper Patrick Drewes to VfL Bochum, Weiß became first-choice goalkeeper at Karlsruhe and started every match of the 2024–25 season.[6][7][8]

On 25 June 2025, Weiß joined Premier League club Burnley on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee, which was reported to be ₤4,300,000.[9]

International career

Weiß has represented Germany at under-18, under-19 and under-20 international levels.[10]
