Mala Raj is an Indian obstetrician, gynaecologist,[1] and laparoscopic surgeon based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.[2] With over 20 years of experience, she is known for her work in laparoscopic procedures, including hysterectomies, myomectomies, and infertility management[3].Her involvement includes complex and rare case studies, such as an unusual case of a neuroendocrine tumor.[4]
Early life and education
Mala Raj's spouse C. Kasturi Raj is a businessman and her daughter, Aarathy Kasturi Raj is an Indian speed skating track athlete. She did her MBBS from Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai. She did her post-graduation in obstetrics and gynaecology at Ramachandra Medical College in 1997. She obtained a Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Kiel, Germany, in 2004. She completed a Diploma in Reproductive Medicine from the same university in 2014 and received training in advanced endoscopy in Strasborg and Taiwan.
