Malá Veleň (German: Klein Wöhlen) is a municipality and village in Děčín District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 400 inhabitants.

Malá Veleň lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) south-east of Děčín, 19 km (12 mi) north-east of Ústí nad Labem, and 74 km (46 mi) north of Prague.

Etymology

The name Veleň is derived from the personal name Velen, meaning "Velen's (court)". The attribute malá (i.e. 'small') was added to distinguish it from nearby Velká Veleň ('great Veleň', today a part of Děčín).[3]
