Maiestas maculata is a species of bug from the Cicadellidae family, subfamily Deltocephalinae, and tribe Deltocephalini, that is endemic to India.[2] It was originally placed within Recilia, but a 2009 revision moved it to Maiestas.[3] Subsequently, a 2011 revision found that M. prabha (also formerly placed in Recilia) was a junior synonym of M. maculata.[4]

First described by Singh‑Pruthi in 1930. Initially classified under Recilia, later reclassified into the genus Maiestas based on taxonomic revisions in 2009 [1]
