Maharashtra Cyber is a dedicated cybersecurity and cybercrime investigation agency under the Government of Maharashtra. It functions as a specialized department within the Maharashtra Police with the goal of combating online crimes and enhancing digital safety in its jurisdiction of Maharashtra. It was founded in 2016 and is currently under the responsibility of Iqbal Chahal.[1]
History
Maharashtra Cyber was formed in 2016, established under the Ministry of Home Affairs of Maharashtra with the goal to address cyber threats, protect digital infrastructure, and promote awareness regarding safe online practices.[2]
