List of Indian Kindle-published writers
Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) has enabled a wave of independent authors in India to publish their work digitally, bypassing traditional publishing houses. This list includes notable Indian writers who have used KDP or similar self-publishing platforms to release their work, either exclusively or initially.
Writers
- Christopher C. Doyle – Indian author known for blending ancient Indian mythology with modern science in his novels. His debut novel The Mahabharata Secret (2013) received widespread acclaim, followed by The Mahabharata Quest: The Alexander Secret. Many of his works are available via Kindle Unlimited.[1][2][3]
- Gaurav Singh Chouhan – Author of A Journey Through Broken Dreams: Discovering The Soul Within (2025), published by Kalpvriksh Publishing House.[4]
- Priya Singh – Indian poet, lyricist, writer, and screenwriter who gained recognition as a silver medallist in MA (English). She has authored eight English books appreciated overseas, and her song "Snowfall of December" was performed by UK singer Ben Davidson in 2019.[5]
- Savi Sharma – Self-published debut novel Everyone Has a Story became one of India's best-selling titles.[6]
- Ravinder Singh – Gained popularity through his self-published romantic novel I Too Had a Love Story.[7]
- Preeti Shenoy – Initially self-published 34 Bubblegums and Candies before becoming a nationally bestselling author.[8]
- Nikita Singh – Indian author with several Kindle-published fiction titles in romance and YA genres.[9]
- Anuj Tiwari – Authored Journey of Two Hearts as a self-healing memoir through Kindle and became widely read.
- Ajay K Pandey – Self-published You Are the Best Wife, inspired by his real-life story.[10]
- Durjoy Datta – Early works were independently released before mainstream publishing picked them up.[11]
- Kiran Manral – Began her fiction career through self-publishing initiatives including eBooks and Kindle editions.[12]
- Madhuri Banerjee – Known for bold storytelling, her first few works were released via self-publishing platforms.[13]
- Abhaidev – Science fiction author of That Thing About You, published via Kindle Direct.[14]
