Lino: Uma Aventura de Sete Vidas (English: Lino[note 1]) is a 2017 Brazilian animated comedy film directed by Rafael Ribas. It was produced by Start Anima and distributed by Fox Film do Brasil. The film tells the story of Lino, a frustrated children's party entertainer who turns into a giant cat costume he wears, and must find a way to return to his original form.[1]
Plot
Lino is tired of his miserable life working as a party entertainer dressed as a giant cat. One day, he seeks out a mystical wizard for help, but something goes wrong and he ends up becoming the very costume he wears. Now transformed into a huge feline, Lino sets out on an adventure to find the wizard and reverse the spell—while discovering what it means to truly live.

Production
The animation was produced in Brazil by Start Anima using CGI technology. The film took over four years to complete and employed more than 120 professionals. It was one of the largest fully Brazilian-produced 3D animation features of its time.
Release
Lino premiered in Brazil on September 7, 2017.[2] It was later shown in various international animation festivals and gained moderate recognition for its technical quality in Latin American animation.
Reception
The film received mixed reviews. While praised for its animation quality and voice acting, some critics noted that the story was more appealing to children than to a broader audience.[3] It grossed approximately R$ 4 million in Brazil.[4]
