Lawrence & Decovenant
Lawrence Chidi Enweriku (born November 25, 1975) best known by stage name Lawrence & Decovenant, is a Nigerian-American gospel singer, songwriter and worship leader based in the United States.[1][2]
Early life and education
Lawrence was born on November 25, 1975, in the Lagos State, he originates from Ndokwa East Local Government Area in Delta State, Nigeria. He schooled at Brigade Primary School and Army Cantonment Boys Secondary School respectively for his primary and Secondary education in Ojo, Lagos, later he gained admission at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, for his Ordinary National Diploma. In 1999, he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Lagos State University.[1][3]
Career
In 1999, Lawrence started his career professionally, in 2009 he formed "Deconvenant", his group of Backing vocalists, and later adopted the name Lawerence & Deconvenant as his stage name. In 2014 he released his debut albums titled "Grace",[4] in 2017 he released a 10 track live album titled Praise & Miracle, the album was play-listed on serval gospel playlists on streaming platforms and was received airplays on radio stations.[1]
In 2019, he released a live album titled "Glory" later in 2020 Lawrence dropped "Victory" his 4th studio album released on March 18, 2020 through DeConvenant Musical Entertainment featuring Mike Abdul, late Sammie Okposo, Kingsley Ike, James Okon and Freke Omoh. [5][3] Over the years, gospel artists like Mike Abdul, late Sammie Okposo, Kingsley Ike, Nosa, Lillian Inneji, and Tope Alabi, JJ Hairston has contributed to the career of Lawrence.[3][2]
In March 2025, Lawrence & Decovenant dropped an afro-gospel Praises groove titled "I know" featuring Emekasongz.[6]
Philanthropy
Aside the music ministry, Lawrence & DeConvenant has made several donations to empower widows and the less privileged. Since 2016, Lawrence and his team has organized schemes that provides food to the less privileged facing hunger due to economic hardship. His annual Praise and Miracle concert, supports the raise funds for charity. He has made partnership also serval countries.[7][2]
Personal life
Lawrence is a married to his wife, and they have three children.[3]
