The twenty-seventh season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, an American police crime drama television series created by Dick Wolf, was confirmed on May 8, 2025, by NBC alongside the twenty-fifth season of Law & Order, and is produced by Wolf Entertainment.[1] It is slated to premiere in Fall 2025.[2] It will consist of 22 episodes. Following David Graziano's departure, Michele Fazekas will be the new showrunner, making her the first woman to hold the position for SVU.[3]
On May 15, 2025, it was announced that Kelli Giddish would return to the series as a main cast member to replace Octavio Pisano and Juliana Aidén Martinez, who departed the series in the previous season.[4]
