Lanier County High School is an American public four-year secondary educational institution located in Lakeland, Georgia. It is the sole high school in the Lanier County School District and serves students in grades 9 through 12 and aged 12-18 locally. As of the 2023-2024 academic year, the school has an enrollment of approximately 500 students, with a student-teacher ratio of 14.55:1. The school's primary LMS is via PowerSchool SIS for both educators and students. Its local feeder school is Lanier County Middle School.

History

Lanier County was established on August 7, 1920 and Lanier County High School was likely established around the same time.

Academics and student body

The school offers a variety of academic programs, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses, career and technical education, and special education services. Its goal is to prepare students equally for post-secondary education and work.

The student body comprises several groups: 59.5% White, 26% Black, 8.5% Hispanic/Latino, 0.9% Asian/Pacific Islander, and 4.8% identifying as two or more races.

In terms of academic performance, 35% of students have achieved proficiency in mathematics, 51% in reading, and 47% in science. The school has a graduation rate of 92%.

Athletics
