Kedar Nath Singh (Uttar Pradesh politician)

Kedar Nath Singh was an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh. He was a three time member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council representing the Indian National Congress from the Varanasi Division Graduates Constituency in Varanasi district.[1][2][3]

He was first elected to the Council representing the BJP in the 2004 by-election and retained the seat for BJP in 2008 and 2014 elections. In 1971, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Sultanpur winning the 1971 Indian general election in Uttar Pradesh representing the Indian National Congress. He remained MP and member of union cabinet of Indira Gandhi. In 1984, he was elected Indian National Congress general secretary. He also served as a Rajya Sabha MP for six years.

He has three sons and one daughter, Arvind Singh, Ashok Singh, Lt Sushma Singh.[4] He is the founder of educational institutions and worked for correction of educational backwardness in Sultanpur and neighbouring districts.
