Karen Lam (Chinese: 林愷倫, born January 12, 1998), better known by her stage name Karencici, is a Chinese American Mandopop singer-songwriter based in Taiwan.[1] She is known for her R&B and hip-hop influenced music, best known for her songs "Hard to Say" and "Save Me From Myself."

Early life

Lam was born on January 12, 1998 in Los Angeles, California.[2] Karencici began her music career as an independent artist in 2016 at the age of 18. She was later discovered by a Korean record label. She gained visibility in the 2016 season of The Voice of China, as a mentee of David Tao.[3][4]

Music career

Karencici officially debuted in late 2018 with her album SHA YAN. In 2019, she won the Best R&B Single for "Timeless" at the 10th Golden Indie Music Awards.[5] In 2021, Karencici joined PANTHEPACK, a Chinese hip-hop group, alongside Jackson Wang, J. Sheon, and ICE.[6] In 2019 and 2022, she was nominated at the Golden Melody Awards. In 2024, she released a new album, Made For You. She has composed songs for other artists, including Jolin Tsai.[4]
