Kang Hyon-gyong (Korean: 강현경; born 16 February 1999) is a North Korean female weightlifter competing in the women's 55 kg category.[1] She won the gold medal in the women's 55 kg event at the 2024 World Weightlifting Championships held in Manama, Bahrain,[2] a gold medal in the 55kg event at the 2022 Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China.[3][4] and a gold medal in the women's 55 kg event at the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.[5]
Kang is the current record holder at Snatch, Clean & Jerk and Total at the 59 kg category with a total of 234 kg.[6]
