Uy began her political career in provincial politics in 2013, when she was elected Representative of Misamis Oriental's 2nd congressional district.[1] During her tenure, she focused on healthcare and community welfare. She campaigned on a platform of equitable distribution of resources, criticizing the alleged selective assistance practices of the incumbent administration. Uy emphasized a clean campaign, rejecting the use of patronage money and focusing on addressing gaps in service delivery.
