Jeremy Ngola Monga (born 10 July 2009) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for EFL Championship club Leicester City.
Club career
Monga began his career with Coventry City, before joining the Leicester City Academy at age eight to play at the under-9 level.[1][2] He became the youngest Premier League 2 scorer on 1 November 2024 after scoring against Aston Villa.[3] After impressing for the under-21s, he began training with the first-team.[4] However, manager Ruud van Nistelrooy stated opportunities for Monga would be limited, considering his school commitments.[5] In February 2025, he was included in the match day squad for their FA Cup fourth round match against Manchester United on 7 February 2025 at the age of 15 years and 212 days.[6]
He made his professional debut for Leicester on 7 April 2025, aged 15 years and 271 days, coming on as a substitute for Bilal El Khannouss in the 74th minute of a 0–3 defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League.[7] In doing so, he became the second-youngest player, behind Ethan Nwaneri, to play in the Premier League.[8] Monga had to play in a sponsor-less shirt, to comply with UK laws on gambling advertising.[9] Van Nistelrooy praised Monga on his debut, saying, "He showed glimpses of his quality at such a young age."[10] He finished his debut season with seven Premier League appearances.[11]
In June 2025, he signed a new contract with Leicester.[12]
International career
Monga has represented England at the U15 and U16 level, captaining the latter.[13][14]
Style of play
Monga is said to be comfortable playing from either flank.[15]
Personal life
Monga currently attends Ratcliffe College.[16]
