Jasmine Artiga (born 5 April 1992) is an American professional boxer who has held the WBA female super-flyweight title since 22 March 2025.
Career
Having completed high school, Artiga played American football in the LFL for the Tampa Breeze[3][4] before taking up boxing aged 21.[3]
She turned professional in May 2017,[5] and compiled a record of 12 wins and a draw from her first 13 pro-fights.[6]
Artiga faced Regina Chavez for the vacant WBA female super-flyweight title at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California on 22 March 2025.[7] She won via majority decision with two of the ringside judges scoring the fight 98–92 and 96–94 in her favour, while the third had it a 95–95 draw.[8][9]
On May 27th 2025,Artiga received a proclamation from the city of Tampa, honored by Mayor Jane Castor. for being the first native-born professional boxer to win a major world title.[10]
Personal life
Artiga is of Cuban descent.[4]born and raised in Tampa, Florida. Her mother was born in Cuba and defected to the United States in 1980, while her father, of Cuban descent, was born in Tampa. Artigas deep connection to her heritage and hometown has shaped her passion for giving back to the community that raised her.
Dedicated to uplifting the next generation, Artiga created her own youth mentorship program from the ground up, aimed at inspiring, guiding, and empowering children in the Tampa area. Through this initiative, she uses her platform and experience as a world champion boxer to instill values of discipline, self-confidence, and resilience. Artiga is recognized not only for her ongoing commitment to creating a lasting, positive impact on Tampa's youth.
