Jarvis Brook

Jarvis Brook is a village between Crowborough and Rotherfield in the Borough of Wealden, East Sussex.[1]

Located around the centre of the village are numerous individual businesses, the Darwin House retirement home,[2] a Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, a Sainbury's Local, Crowborough Country Park, and Crowborough Railway Station, on the Uckfield branch of the Oxted Line, that was historically known as Crowborough and Jarvis Brook.[3]

To the south, Jarvis Brook also has a primary and infants school near Western Road,[4] and the Rethoboth Chapel.

Social Programmes

Inside Jarvis Brook are a variety of social programmes. The Jarvis Brook Guide Hall[5] facilitates Girl Guides and is able to be hired for activities like birthday parties. The Jarvis Brook Social Club[6] is located on the corner of Crowborough Hill and Jarvis Brook Car Park, and the Jarvis Brook Community Hub will be opening in a few months and is located in a disused part of Crowborough railway station[7].

Sports

It has a several football clubs - Jarvis Brook F.C.,[8] Jarvis Brook Juniors FC and Jarvis Brook Girls FC - all based at the Limekiln Playing Fields [9] on Palesgate Lane.

Business Parks

Jarvis Brook has numerous business parks, the Lexden Lodge Industrial Estate with many local businesses such as Assassins Gym[10], the Millbrook Business Park and Industrial Estate to the east, that includes a Tesco, as well as the Farningham Road Business Park, that includes the Courtwell Business Park and the Wealden Business Park.
