Io sono nato libero (translated from Italian to "I Was Born Free") is the third studio album by Italian progressive rock band Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. The album had a more pastoral, poetic, and melancholic atmosphere compared to their last album, Darwin, while still keeping the long complex material. Songs like Canto nomade per un prigioniero politico and Dopo...niente è più lo stesso had emotionally building and powerful symphonic passages. "Non mi rompete" and "La città sottile" were released as singles in 1973. The album was well received and in 2015 it was listed as the 35th best progressive rock album by The Rolling Stone magazine. Original issues were die cut.
