It is a public interest incorporated association (a type of incorporated association in Japan that has been authorized by an administrative agency to operate for public interest purposes) that aims to contribute to international goodwill, improvement of boys' physical fitness, and cultivation of character. The chairman of the board is Takeshi Koba, a former coach of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp and the current head coach emeritus of Tokyo International University.

Overview

In March 1982, with the support of Ryōichi Sasakawa, Kiyoshi Sagawa, and others, it was approved by the Ministry of Education (now the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) and started as an incorporated association. For more than 40 years since then, the club has been engaged in international exchange with overseas youth baseball organizations. In 2013, it became a public interest incorporated association with the approval of the Cabinet Office.

Tournaments

One of the main tournaments it organizes is the International Boys Nankyu Baseball World Championship, held annually in Tokyo.
