Higashi-Nemuro Station (東根室駅, Higashi-Nemuro-eki) was a railway station on the Nemuro Main Line of JR Hokkaido located in Nemuro, Hokkaido, Japan. The station opened on September 1, 1961, and closed on March 14, 2025.[1][2]

Higashi-Nemuro was the easternmost railway station in Japan.[3][4]

Abolishment

On March 14, 2025, the station was abolished due to low number of passengers. After the closure of Higashi-Nemuro Station, Nemuro Station once again became the easternmost station, as it had been before the opening of Higashi-Nemuro Station.[5][2]
