Summary

His father is the late To Wai-tung (pen name Ah-To), former publicity manager of Golden Harvest Films,[3] since her father translated Japanese entertainment information for magazines for many years, she was influenced by her father since she was a child and became proficient in Japanese. Her mother, Lo Pui-ching, is a retired teacher from Gertrude Simon Lutheran College. She attended North Point Methodist Primary School in primary school and was also good at roller skating at that time.[4] She studied at Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary School,[5] studied urban planning and minored in Japanese at McMaster University in Canada. She later participated in the local "Japanese Speech Contest for Canadian Students" and won the national championship. She was awarded a scholarship by the Japanese Ministry of Education (Education Bureau). She was appreciated by the wife of the Japanese ambassador to Canada and was recommended to study Japanese literature at Ochanomizu University in Tokyo after graduation, so she gave up the master's program at the University of Toronto.[6] After obtaining her university diploma in 1998, her father recommended To to Emperor Motion Pictures to work as a subtitle translator for Japanese films, and she became an apprentice screenwriter later.[7] In 2005, she applied for a job as a travel program writer for Cable TV and produced the program "Life is Tasty".[8] She has participated in the script writing of the movie "Enter The Phoenix" (大佬愛美麗).[9]

In 2007, TVB Life Channel invited To to host the travel program "Popular Tokyo" (流行東京), which made her gradually known to the public. The second series was produced in 2008. In 2009, she co-hosted an outsourced travel program with Now Broadband TV, including three series of "Blowing In The World" and "Popular in China". Just when everyone thought To had made money, she denied it. The entire program, from data collection, booking of air tickets and hotels, car rental to itinerary arrangement, was all handled by To and the director. To also revealed that she was upset when she went to Great Britain before because she was "stood up" by a local producer. She said that she only asked him to help arrange the itinerary and did not ask him to make appointments for filming. However, he did not show up for a single day and still charged her 300 pounds a day. She was so bold that he came to her on the last day to ask for the money. To returned to Hong Kong and publicly criticized him in his column. Her company finally called To to inquire about the incident.[10]

To once dated Hong Kong singer Wong You-nam in 2007, but the relationship ended after a year.[11]
