Grape surgery
Grape surgery refers to demonstrations of the precision and capabilities of robotic surgical systems, specifically the da Vinci Surgical System, by performing delicate tasks like peeling and stitching a grape. In 2018 an internet meme went viral.[1]
Videos have been widely circulated showing surgeons peeling a grape’s skin off and stitching a peeled grape back together. In 2018 Dr Declan Murphy, an oncologist from Melbourne, filmed a grape operation for an Australian children's show, to "introduce kids to surgical technology". [2]
