Gita Hajdarhodžić (born 2 July 2006), better known simply as Gita Haydar, is a Croatian actress and singer. She is best known for portraying Nora Klarić Selem in the Croatian TV series Sram.

Early life

Gita Hajdarhodžić was born in Zagreb on 2 July 2006. Her mother, Maja Vučić,[1] is a former Croatian singer most famous for being a member of the 1990s Croatian girl group Divas. Her father, Igor Hajdarhodžić,[1] is an artist and the son of the late Croatian actor Izet Hajdarhodžić. Vučić retired from music in favor of working as a graduate psychologist; she and Igor separated in 2009.[2] Gita Hajdarhodžić graduated from the Rochester Independent College in the United Kingdom, and returned to Croatia afterwards.[3]

Career

Gita Hajdarhodžić started singing already as a child, when she joined the choir Zvjezdice as a 9-year-old.[4] She was part of the performance of Hans Krása's opera Brundibár in Croatia. She also sang at the Croatian National Theatre (HNK), in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera The Magic Flute.

In January 2023, Hajdarhodžić attracted attention after performing at the Golden Studio party, where she performed Jadranka Stojaković's "Što te nema". The performance was unplanned and initiated by the Croatian musician Ante Gelo.[5][6] On 8 July 2023, Hajdarhodžić performed at the Vraćam se, Zagrebe, tebi concert in front of the HNK; she sang "Moj Zagreb, tak imam te rad", "Ljubavna pjesma" from Karlo Metikoš's rock opera Gubec-beg with Lovro Juraga,[7] Zvonimir Golob's "Dušo moja", and a medley of Rajko Dujmić's songs.[8] On 30 October 2023, Hajdarhodžić also performed at the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) award ceremony, alongside Juraga.[4][9]

On 7 July 2024, Hajdarhodžić performed in front of the HNK, where she sang Josipa Lisac's "O jednoj mladosti".[2] On 15 October 2024, a trailer for the TV series Sram, the Croatian remake of the Norwegian TV series Skam, was released; through it, it was revealed that Hajdarhodžić was part of the cast.[10] Sram premiered on 27 October 2024 on HRT 1.[11] Hajdarhodžić, who was billed simply as Gita Haydar, portrayed Nora Klarić Selem, a character based on Skam's Noora Amalie Sætre. In November 2024, Haydar performed at the HNK in the play Les Misérables.[3]

The second season of Sram, centered around Nora, premiered on 26 April 2025.[12][13] The season concluded on 28 June 2025 to highly positive reception.[14]

Personal life

Since 2022, Haydar has been dating the Croatian actor Lovro Juraga, the son of the Croatian actor Slavko Juraga.[15]
