Lieutenant General Ghayur Mahmood HI(M) is a retired three-star general of the Pakistan Army who served as Military Secretary at GHQ,[1] Director General of Punjab Rangers and General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 7th Infantry Division in Peshawar. He also served as commander of XXX Corps.[2][3]

He was commissioned into the Frontier Force Regiment in 1982 and retired from service in October 2018.[2][4][5]

Military career

Ghayur Mahmood was commissioned into the Frontier Force Regiment in 1982. He served as the General Officer Commanding of the 7th Infantry Division in Peshawar from 2011 to 2013.

In 2014, he was appointed as the Commander of XXX Corps Gujranwala.[6]

He was later appointed Director General of Punjab Rangers, where he served from 2013 to 2015.

In 2015, he was appointed Military Secretary at GHQ, a post he held until his retirement in 2018.[3][7]

He also served as Director General Military Training at GHQ and was later appointed as Colonel Commandant of the Frontier Force Regiment in March 2018.[2]

Mahmood appointed as Director of Askari Bank Limited.[10]
