Excelsior is the fifth studio album by American rapper Benny the Butcher, released independently by Black Soprano Family on May 2, 2025. It's a surprise album announced on April 30, 2025, on social media along with the release of its debut and only single, "Duffle Bag Hottie's Revenge."[1] Guests include Boldy James, Styles P, P.R.E.M.O., Sule, and Fuego Base.
Background and promotion
Pennick had a prolific 2024, with the release of Everybody Can't Go, his debut studio album on Def Jam, Summertime Butch, a collaboration mixtape with Black Soprano Family, and Stabbed & Shot 2, a collaboration studio album with 38 Spesh.
On April 30, 2025, Pennick announced his fifth studio album, Excelsior, would be released on May 2, 2025, with the release of the single, "Duffle Bag Hottie's Revenge," featuring Boldy James co-occurring in the announcement and the single's music video.[1][2] Sule and Fuego Base, two guest artists from "B$F," are signed into Pennick's Black Soprano Family imprint.[3]
Continuing promotion for Excelsior, the music video of "Sign Language" premiered on May 7, 2025[4]
