Evangelos J. Pistiolis is a Greek[1] businessman who founded Top Ships on January 10, 2000.[2] Top Ships is a maritime shipping company that operates dry bulk carriers, chemical tanker vessels, petroleum tankers and Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) fleet vessels.[3]

Pistiolis is the founder, president, chief executive officer and director of the company.[4][5][6]

In 1999, Pistiolis graduated from the Southampton Institute of Higher Education. He received a bachelor's degree for mechanical engineering at the University of Munich in Munich, Germany. From 1994 to 1995, Pistiolis worked for a London shipbroker company called Howe Robinson & Co. Ltd. where he managed a small fleet of dry bulk carriers. While he studied at the Southampton Institute of Higher Education in Greece, he worked for a ship management company called the Compass United Maritime Container Vessels.[2]
