Edward L. Artau is an American appellate judge on the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal who is a nominee to be a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.[1]
Education
Artau earned his Bachelor of Science from the Nova Southeastern University in 1985, and received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 1988, where he also served as law review editor.[2]
Nomination to district court
On June 16, 2025, President Trump announced his intent to nominate Artau to serve as a United States District Judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. On June 25, 2025, a hearing on his nomination was held before the Senate Judiciary Committee. His nomination is currently pending before the Senate Judiciary Committee.[3]
