Dating Gawi (lit. 'Old Habits' in Tagalog) is the third studio album by Filipino singer, Rico Blanco. It was released in 2015.[1]
Background and release
Rico has released his third solo album since 2008, "Dating Gawi." The eight-track album, which features a mix of traditional instruments and unconventional ones, was recorded by Rico alone using a cowbell, melodica, and a neighbor's junk.[1]
The album, which has been titled "Dating Gawi," is his first with Universal Records and his third since going solo in 2008, following the traditional method with the help of his rock star friends Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, and Roll Martinez, following the rules of the genre.[1]
Rico's album stands out for not aiming to innovate, but instead to follow the rock 'n roll rule book and avoid far-out experiments.[1]
