The Cranberry Cup International is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU), organized and hosted by the Skating Club of Boston at their facility in Norwood, Massachusetts, in the United States.[1] The competition debuted in 2021. In 2024, it became part of the ISU Challenger Series.[2] Medals are awarded in men's singles and women’s singles at the senior and junior levels; and as part of the Challenger Series, skaters earn ISU World Standing points based on their results.
History
The inaugural edition of the Cranberry Cup International was held in 2021 at the Skating Club of Boston in Norwood, Massachusetts, in the United States. Vincent Zhou and Alysa Liu, both of the United States, won the men's and women's event, respectively. Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov of Russia won the pairs event.[3] The pairs event was only held in 2021; beginning in 2022, only the men's and women's events have been contested.
In 2024, the Cranberry Cup International was the first event of the ISU Challenger Series,[2] a series of international figure skating competitions sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU). The objective is to ensure consistent organization and structure within a series of international competitions linked together, providing opportunities for senior-level skaters to compete at the international level and also earn ISU World Standing points.[4] The 2025 Cranberry Cup International is scheduled to take place August 7–10 in Norwood.[5]
