"Cocaine Nose" (stylized in all caps) is a song by American rapper Playboi Carti. It was released through AWGE and Interscope Records as the twentieth track from Carti's third studio album, Music, on March 14, 2025. The song was written by Playboi Carti, alongside producers F1lthy, 100Yrd, Brak3, and Seven. It contains a sample of "Only U" by Ashanti.
Background and commercial performance
On December 15, 2024, Playboi Carti was confirmed as part of the American festival Rolling Loud,[3][2] he performed "Cocaine Nose".[1][4][5][6] The song samples 2004 single, "Only U" by Ashanti,[7] more specifically the guitar riff,[8][9][10][11] which was actually taken from the song "Presence" by Aurelius. The song peaked at number 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.[12]
Live performances and reception
Carti performed "Cocaine Nose" live for the first time at a 2024 Rolling Loud Miami flagship Festival,[3][6] held on December 15.[1][5] "Cocaine Nose" also received mixed criticism from critics.[13] Yazan Mohammad of The Daily Targum and other critics called the song "hostile."[14][15] Charles Lyon of Slant Magazine said Cocaine Nose embodies a "fibrous, electric-guitar-loop" theme.[16] The beat also has been classified dark and distorted.[17] Billboard ranked the song at fifteenth place in a list of the songs on Playboi Carti's Music.[1]
