His eldest son, Isaac Chung Hang-lim, worked as a club secretary for the Fujian basketball team for two years. His friends in the circle are mainly some football enthusiasts, such as Edmond Leung, Andrew Lam Man-chung, Calvin Yiu, Lin Haifeng and Wong Hing Kwei. Background
Early life
Chung Chi-kwong grew up in Block 10 of Li Cheng Uk Village in Sham Shui Po. He has an older brother. His childhood entertainment mainly consisted of playing football and watching Cantonese feature films, and he was raised by his grandmother. Chung graduated from China Holiness School(Primary 6 in 1974)[2] and Pui Shing Catholic Secondary School (Arts, Form 5, 1979;[3] Form 6, 1980[4][5]). When he was in secondary school, he was responsible for the preparation of sports administration for the school's field games, and Barry Wong Ping-yiu was his teacher. In addition, in Form 4, he was inspired by his history teacher's teaching method and went from having no idea about studying to studying hard[6].Although he passed the sixth form foundation after graduating, he was unable to enter university due to the limited degree available at that time. Therefore, he decided to enroll in the Sports Diploma Course at Grantham College[7]of Education.
After graduating from Grantham College of Education (now the Education University of Hong Kong, the predecessor of the Hong Kong Institute of Education), he worked as a secondary school Chinese and physical education teacher at Yan Ping Industrial & Commercial Association Lee Lim Ming College for seven months in 1988, during which time he taught Class 2F of the school. During this period, I enrolled in the off-campus diploma course in recreation management at School of Continuing and Professional Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. After teaching physical education for a few months, Chung Chi-kwong was transferred to work as a recreation director at a private club for two months. He was later introduced by football commentator Chu Wing-hon to Commercial Radio to be responsible for sports programmes and to provide live commentary for the Hong Kong First Division Football League with Spencer Lam Sheung-yee and Choi Man-kin. He then moved to TVB as a sports commentator, mainly hosting sports programmes and commentating on sports.
Participate in on-stage performances
While working at Hong Kong Commercial Radio in the 1980s, Chung Chi-kwong was mainly responsible for preparing interviews for Sports Radar. At the same time, he is responsible for interviewing some special news. He also guest-starred in the radio dramas "Hong Kong Strange Cases" (voiced by Lin Guoyun) and "Block 18, Block C" (voiced by Disco[8]).In 1990, Chung Chi-kwong moved between TVB and radio stations. At the time he was providing television commentary for the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He had already signed a contract with the TV station in 1989 and later participated in the narration of the football segment of "Soccer Fan".[9]
Chung Chi-kwong began to participate in TV dramas in 1996. The reason was that TVB's drama producer Kwong Yip-sang asked Chung Chi-kwong to guest-star as the Cuju narrator in Taming of the Princess. Other producers noticed his potential in acting, and subsequently arranged for him to play roles in other TV dramas, especially as a commentator for events in TV dramas. Because Zhong Zhiguang started out as a sports commentator, the characters he played all had a lot of dialogue. As a result, he concentrated on playing roles with a lot of proprietary words and dialogues, such as doctor, lawyer, teacher, program host, etc.[10]
Chung Chi-kwong's representative works include "Funny Detective" which premiered in 2008. In the drama, he plays the role of Wong Shu Kei, a police superintendent in the serious crime squad. Although Chung Chi-kwong did not appear in the drama for a long time, some netizens pointed out that when he was in the drama, his acting skills were very expressive and his dialogues were smooth. He fully played the role of the superintendent and was no worse than the main actors Kwok Chun On or Kenneth Ma. His outstanding acting skills in the drama sparked heated discussions among netizens, with some suggesting that he should have been awarded the Best Supporting Actor award in that year's "Ten Thousand Stars Celebrate the Anniversary". Some people also pointed out that TVB should give Chung Chi-kwong a chance to play the leading male role in a drama. In addition, because Chung Chi-kwong's image as a sports program host is so deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, netizens jokingly said that when he appeared in the TV series, a sports program was being broadcast at the time. He once played the role of the narrator of a table tennis match in "Snooker King" which premiered in 2009, but his passionate commentary made netizens think they were watching a football match (because the narration of a table tennis match is relatively calm and plain). In the drama "Three Women and One Cause" which premiered in 2018, the producer took advantage of this characteristic and arranged for him to play the role of Li Shengqiang, a die-hard Liverpool FC fan. This role is also another representative work of Chung Chi-kwong after Superintendent Wong Shu-kei. In real life, Chung Chi-kwong is also a Liverpool fan.
