Chuan Chin Wee (also known as Wee Chuan Chin; born 27 May 1984) is a Malaysian professional basketball player. He has represented the Malaysia national basketball team in several international competitions, including the FIBA Asia Championship.

Club career

Chuan Chin Wee has played for several teams in Malaysia. Around 2011, he was listed as playing for the KL Dragons (now Westports Malaysia Dragons) in the ASEAN Basketball League.[1] He has also been associated with teams such as Farmco, Farmco Touchup, and PDRM Basketball in Malaysian basketball leagues.[1]

National team career

Chuan was a member of the Malaysia national basketball team. He participated in the 2005 FIBA Asia Championship.[2]

He later competed in the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship held in Wuhan, China. During this tournament, he averaged 3.6 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game during 7 games.[3]

Chuan was also involved with the national team for the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers. He played in one game, scoring 4 points.[2] He was also named in the 29-player pool for the final window of these qualifiers in February 2021.[4]

He was part of the Malaysian team that competed in the 2011 Jones Cup.[5]

Chuan Chin Wee plays as a guard and is 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in) tall. He weighed approximately 78 kg (171 lbs) during his playing career.[1] He was eligible for the 2006 NBA draft but was not selected.[6]
