Chickenhare and the Secret of the Groundhog is an upcoming animated adventure film produced by nWave Studios. directed by Benjamin Mousquet, written by Dave Collard and Chris Grine and producer Matthieu Gondinet. It is a sequel to the 2022 film, Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness and the second film in the Chickenhare. it is based on the graphic novel Chickenhare by Chris Grine
Chickenhare and the Secret of the Groundhog premiered at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on 12 June 2025.[2] and was released in France on 15 October 2025, by SND.[3]
Story
Chickenhare, born half chicken and half hare, decides to explore the world with his friends Meg, a martial arts expert and skunk, and Abe, a sarcastic turtle. An unexpected encounter with Gina, his sister, radically changes his plans. What follows is an epic and adventurous journey full of pitfalls through new worlds.

Production
Chickenhare and the Secret of the Groundhog is based on the Chickenhare graphic novels by Chris Grine, published by Dark Horse Comics. The film was produced by Belgium's nWave Studios and France's Octopolis in association with Sony Pictures Releasing, with a budget of 23 million US dollars.[4]
Release
Chickenhare and the Secret of the Groundhog premiered at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on June 12, 2025.[5] and was released in France on 15 October 2025, by SND.
