Chiara Porro (born 30 July 1984) is an Australian diplomat who served as Ambassador to The Holy See.[1][2]

Porro was born in Milan but left Italy at age three.[3] She graduated from the University of York, England with a Bachelor of Arts in politics, philosophy and economics. She subsequently completed a Master of Arts in international relations and diplomacy from Leiden University, Netherlands.[1][4]

Porro worked in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, before moving to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, where her service has included time in India and New Caledonia.[2]

Porro is married to cyclist Rien Schuurhuis who holds Dutch citizenship due to his birth, Australian citizenship as she is Australian, and Vatican citizenship since Schuurhuis resides there and as Porro had been the Australian Ambassador to the Holy See at the time.[5][6] They have two children, Thomas and George.[7]
