Charu Suri[1] is an Indo-American[2] jazz composer and pianist known for her style of blending Indian ragas[3] with jazz.[4][5]
On April 5, 2024, she performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City for a historic fourth performance on Friday, April 5, becoming the first Indian jazz artist to do so.
Charu's albums include RAGS & RAGAS recorded with Steve Gadd, John Patitucci and Joe Lastie; RAGAS & WALTZES; The Book of Ragas (volumes 1 & 2), The New American Songbook, and Lollipops for Breakfast. She has won many awards including several Intercontinental Music Awards for Best Jazz Song, Entertainer of the Year (Gold) from the International Singer Song Writers Association (ISSA), and several Global Music Awards.
