Buay Tuach (born January 20, 1995) is an Ethiopian-American professional basketball player for the Auckland Tuatara of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL).
Career
Westchester Knicks (2017–2019)
After a short stint in Germany,[1] Tuach was selected by the Long Island Nets in the 2017 NBA G League Draft.[2] He was later waived[3] and subsequently joined the Westchester Knicks.[4] He averaged 2.0 points in 23 games during the 2017–18 season.[5]
Tuach re-joined the Westchester Knicks for the 2018–19 season,[6] but after appearing in two games, he sustained a foot fracture and was waived.[7] He re-joined the Knicks in February 2019.[5] He averaged 2.8 points in 13 games during the 2018–19 season.[5]
London Lions (2020)
On January 10, 2020, Tuach signed with the London Lions in England for the 2019–20 BBL season.[8] He averaged 10.1 points in nine games.[5]
South West Slammers (2022–2024)
In March 2022, Tuach signed with the South West Slammers in Australia for the 2022 NBL1 West season.[9] In 18 games, he averaged 21.89 points, 6.78 rebounds, 3.33 assists and 2.67 steals per game.[10]
In October 2022, Tuach had a training camp stint with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA G League.[11]
Tuach returned to the Slammers for the 2023 NBL1 West season and averaged 23.81 points, 6.43 rebounds, 3.86 and 1.9 steals in 21 games.[10] With the Slammers in the 2024 NBL1 West season,[12] he averaged 23.73 points, 7.55 rebounds, 3.14 assists and 2.64 steals in 22 games.[10]
Trikala Basket (2024–present)
In September 2024, Tuach signed with Trikala Basket of the Greek Elite League.[13]
Auckland Tuatara (2025-present)
On February 16, 2025, Tuach signed with the Auckland Tuatara of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL) for the 2025 season.[14]
