Boys and Girls Alone is a British reality TV programme made for Channel 4 and first broadcast in 2009. The programme saw a group of children, made up of both boys and girls aged between eight and eleven, attempt to live alone.[1] While there were adult crew members on set, the children were ultimately left to their own devices and the adults would only step in in extreme circumstances.
Controversy
The series attracted considerable press attention over allegations of "child abuse and cruelty".[2] As a result, the UK government has "ordered a review of child employment laws".[3]
