Beyond Boundaries (Bengali: তৃতীয় ভুবন, Tritiyo Bhubon) is a 2024 documentary film directed by Sankhajit Biswas and Biswajit Mitra.[1] The film got official selections at Film South Asia 2024, 2nd Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival and 11th Kolkata People's Film Festival.[2][3][4]
Synopsis
The partition of India in 1947 led to the division of the Bengalis. Fast forward to present day Australia: the immigrant Bengalis from Bangladesh and India make efforts to bridge the divide by staging Rabindranath Tagore's play Achalayatan that talks about the liberation of our restrained minds.
Release
The premiere of the film at Film South Asia was held on 23 November 2024.[5] The film was screened in Melbourne on 14 March 2025 at Showbiz Cinemas.[6] It was premiered on 23 March 2025 at the 11th Kolkata People's Film Festival.[7]
