Betrayal is an upcoming ITV television drama series set in the world of espionage. It is written by playwright David Eldridge and is starring Shaun Evans, Romola Garai, Gamba Cole, Zahra Ahmadi, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Omid Djalili.

Premise

A British agent working for MI5 detects a threat to national security.[1]

Production

The series is written by David Eldridge and produced by Mammoth Screen, and was announced by ITVX in September 2024.[2] The four-part series is directed by Julian Jarrold with Irma Inniss as producer. Executive producers include Damien Timmer alongside Eldridge, Jarrold, Tom Leggett, and Shaun Evans, who also leads the cast.[3]

The cast includes Evans, Romola Garai, and Gamba Cole, Zahra Ahmadi, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Omid Djalili.[4]

Filming took place in 2025, with filming locations including Liverpool and Manchester.[5]
