Bandidos is a Mexican heist drama television series directed by Adrian Grünberg and Javier Ruiz Caldera and written by Pablo Tébar and Jesica Aran.[1] Produced by Wonder Street, Redrum and Traziende Films, and stars Alfonso Dosal, Ester Expósito and Juan Pablo Medina.[2][3] The series premiered on Netflix on March 13, 2024.

In December 2024, Netflix confirmed that the series had been quietly renewed for a second season, which was released on January 3, 2025.[4]

Plot

Bandidos follows a group of misfit treasure hunters drawn together by the promise of legendary riches. The series begins with Miguel Morales, a skilled diver and treasure hunter, who learns of a sunken Spanish galleon rumored to contain a valuable Mayan artifact. With his father's health deteriorating and financial pressures mounting, Miguel assembles a team to locate and recover the treasure. The group includes a forger, a hacker, a trapeze artist, a detective, and a former love interest, each bringing unique skills to the operation. Their mission quickly evolves into a high-stakes pursuit as rival treasure hunters and authorities close in.

In the second season, the storyline shifts to a new objective: the recovery of a fabled artifact known as the "Tear of Fire," believed to be connected to Aztec Emperor Moctezuma. The team reunites, now facing both external threats and internal conflicts, as they navigate personal debts, shifting loyalties, and complex relationships. Lilí, revealed to have a hidden identity and past affiliations, becomes a central figure in the plot, with her actions influenced by threats against a former partner.
