Atom Yoiremba was a monarch of the Ningthouja dynasty in the Kingdom of Kangleipak (modern-day Manipur) in the 12th century. He succeeded his father, King Loitongba, and ruled from 1150 to 1163 CE..[1]
According to the royal chronicle Cheitharol Kumbaba, which Saroj Nalini Parratt translated in The Court Chronicle of the Kings of Manipur, he was deposed by his brother, Hemtou Iwanthaba, in 1163 CE.[2]
Early Life and Ascension
Upon his father's death, Atom Yoiremba ascended the throne.[3] He was overthrown by his brother, Hemtou Iwanthaba, in 1163 CE, as recorded in the royal chronicle Cheitharol Kumbaba.[4]
Conflict and Exile
Atom Yoiremba sought safety among the Khuman people, a well-known clan in the area, after being deposed. [5] In Manipur, this era was marked by political unrest and shifting alliances between different clans and kingdoms.[6][7]
