Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories
The Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD) is a body that brings together a number of central securities depositories (CSDs) in 9 countries of the former Soviet Union as well as India, Indonesia, Iran, Mongolia, South Korea, and Turkey. It was formed in Moscow in 2004, following a series of gathering of its would-be members in the previous three years.[1] It aims to promote coordination and exchange of information among its members.[2] A majority of its members (9 of 16) are simultaneously members of the Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group, formed in 1997.[3]
