Annapurna Cable Car is a gondola lift system located in Pokhara, Nepal. It connects the lakeside area of Sedibagar with the hilltop viewpoint of Sarangkot, a popular destination for sunrise views over the Annapurna (mountain range) and paragliding.

Overview

The cable car line is approximately 2.4 kilometers long and consists of 18 gondolas, each with the capacity to carry 8 passengers. The cable car provides a quick and scenic route to Sarangkot, significantly reducing the travel time compared to road transport.

History

The Annapurna Cable Car was inaugurated on 18 February 2022. The project was developed by Annapurna Cable Car Pvt. Ltd., aiming to boost Tourism and provide a convenient route for locals and visitors alike. The construction began in 2013 but faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The total investment in the project was approximately NPR 2 billion.[5]

As of 2025, ticket prices are as follows:[7]

  • Nepalese: NPR 400 (one way), NPR 700 (round trip)
  • SAARC Countries: NPR 700 (one way), NPR 1000 (round trip)
  • Other Foreign Nationals: USD 8 (one way), USD 12 (round trip)
