Andrew Tayengwa is a Zambian politician and Member of Parliament for Kabwata Constituency. A member of the United Party for National Development, he was elected to the position in 2022.[1][2][3]

Political career

Tayengwa has been a member of the ruling United Party For National Development in Kabwata constituency. In 2022, following the passing of Levy Mkandawire in a road accident, the party adopted him on its ticket to contest the election. He contested and won against the Patriotic Front’s candidate Clement Tembo.[4]

He was announced winner days later on February 4, 2022 with 13574 votes against PF’s Clement Tembo.[5]

Parliamentary work

He serves in the Zambian Parliament's parliamentary standing committees including Committee on Agriculture and Lands and Committee on Media, Information and Technology.[6]

Education

Tayengwa is an accountant by profession. He holds a diploma in accountancy.[6]
