The Act Concerning Strangers 1540 (32 Hen. 8. c.16) was an act of the Parliament of England that restricted most migrants from working and migrants were regularly prosecuted for breaching this restriction.[1]
The act is held at the Parliamentary Archives of the United Kingdom.[2]
Legacy
The whole act was repealed by section 1 of, and the schedule to, the Statute Law Revision Act 1863 (26 & 27 Vict. c. 125).
