Career

The TD Tom Hussey is a relative.

She first played for Athenry in the unofficial Connaht junior club championship in its inaugural year, eventually ascending through the ranks to win intermediate winners and runners-up medals in '69, '71, '73, '75, '76, '77.[2] ’77 was the big one. It was when Athenry won the Senior Club All Ireland. She was a substitute for that.[3] She retired in ’81. With the club too, she was runner-up at the inaugural All Ireland Intermediate club championship. She won Co. championship medals with the club in ’75, ’76, ’77, ’78 and again in ’79 and numerous individual medals for her audacious work rate throughout that time.
