International career
In January 2014, coach Brama Traore invited him to be a part of the Burkina Faso squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship.[3][4] The team was eliminated in the group stages after losing to Uganda and Zimbabwe and then drawing with Morocco.[5][6]
His final cap until 2025 came in 2017 during a 2–2 draw against Ghana during 2018 African Nations Championship qualification.
He was called up again to the Burkina Faso national team after eight years for the Mapinduzi Cup in January 2025. During the tournament, he scored his first two international goals in January 2025 as Burkina Faso finished as runners-up, including a goal during the final.[7] He became the joint top scorer of the tournament alongside his teammate Clément Pitroipa.
