The 2025 Prince Edward Island Liberal Party leadership election will take place on October 4, 2025, to elect a new leader of the Prince Edward Island Liberal Party. The contest was prompted by the resignation of Sharon Cameron, who stepped down after the party's poor showing in the 2023 general election.[1] It was originally supposed to be held in May 2026. Candidate registration closes in July 2025.[2] The PC's and Greens also held leadership elections in 2025.

Timeline

  • April 6, 2023 – Sharon Cameron resigns as leader of the Liberal Party. Hal Perry is selected as interim leader 6 days later.[3][4]
  • July 4, 2025 - Deadline for candidates to make themselves known to the party, and submit an application package
