The 2025 Lincolnshire County Council election was held on 1 May 2025 to elect members to Lincolnshire County Council in Lincolnshire, England.[6] All 70 seats were up for election. This was on the same day as other local elections including the inaugural 2025 Greater Lincolnshire mayoral election. The council was under Conservative majority control prior to the election. Reform UK won a majority of the seats on the council at the election.
Background
At the previous 2021 election, the Conservatives won a majority of seats.[7]

Summary
Prior to the election, the council was under Conservative majority control. The council had only three Reform UK councillors prior to the election, all of whom had been elected as South Holland Independents but joined Reform UK in March 2025.[22] The election saw Reform UK win 44 of the 70 seats on the council, giving it an overall majority. After the election, Reform UK chose Sean Matthews to be their new group leader on the council, and he was formally appointed as the new leader of the council at the subsequent annual council meeting on 23 May 2025.[24]
