The 2025–26 Malaysia Super League (Malay: Liga Super Malaysia 2025–26) will be the 22nd season of the Malaysia Super League, the top-tier professional football league in Malaysia since its establishment in 2004, and the 44th season of top-flight Malaysian football overall.

Johor Darul Ta'zim are the defending champions having won their record 11th Super League title on the previous season.[1]

Teams

Changes from the previous season

A total of fourteen teams contest the league, including twelve sides from the 2024–25 season and two promoted from the 2024–25 Malaysia A1 Semi-Pro League.

The Malaysian Football League (MFL) announced the re-introduction of 14 clubs league format. There are several team changes where Kedah Darul Aman and Perak were been ejected or expelled from Super League following failed to obtain a National Licence for the 2025–2026 season due to financial difficulties.[2][3] They have been replaced by two teams promoted from the 2024–25 Malaysia A1 Semi-Pro League; The two clubs promoted was Melaka and Immigration, debuting in the Super League as the A1 Semi-Pro League champions and runner-up.[4] They were eligible to play in the Super League after their National License applications were approved by the MFL First Instance Body (FIB).[5] Meanwhile, the MFL announced that the Brunei-based club DPMM FC, will compete in the new 2025–2026 Super League season.[4] DPMM FC will play as an invited club after receiving approval from the FIFA to participate in Malaysia’s professional league, which is expected to begin in August 2025.[6] On 20 June, Sri Pahang have officially withdrawn from the 2025–26 Malaysian League season despite being granted a national licence by the MFL.[7] The club submitted a formal letter dated 16 June, stating their decision not to participate in the new campaign, which kicks off on 8 August 2025.[8]
